Heidi Roach - Profile

Heidi Roach is a Licensed Athletic Trainer who joined our team in 2021. She grew up in Southwest Connecticut before attending Averett University in South Central Virginia. Heidi grew up playing softball, soccer and was a competitive equestrian. Heidi initially planned to follow her equestrian roots in college, until she quickly realized her passion was on the athletic field. Heidi completed her Master’s Degree at Old Dominion University where she researched youth concussions in partnership with the CDC’s Heads Up Concussion Program.

Heidi’s work experience includes multiple levels of Men’s and Women’s NCAA Athletics. She had the unique experience of working for DJO Global as a Durable Medical Equipment Technician where she gained a vast knowledge of Durable Medical Equipment use and billing. Her work experience caught the eye of the administration at Duke Sports Medicine where she spent 5 years as a clinical Athletic Trainer, working with several world renowned orthopaedic surgeons specializing in shoulder and knee surgery and pediatric sports medicine. At Duke, she developed a unique skill set specific to orthopaedics that not many Athletic Trainers possess. Heidi spent time volunteering with the Feagin Leadership Program while at Duke where she gained interests in the areas of medical leadership, resilience and mentoring.

Our goal is to create the best experience possible for your care with us at Vanderbilt Orthopaedics.
